THE PLEA. 14 February, 2001. It was a day I will never forget, my eyes were stucked in, hands buried under me, as I tried to adjust myself, seeing myself bleeding blood is the last mistake I ever did, but I never regret, at least, I was able to see Dayo and he  just kissed me, not my mouth, but my forehead. That was my first kiss ever. It all happened many years ago. We were both younger then, he lives at the back of our house in Kano. Anytime I walk out of my house, I see him with his father, on their farm. I never had feelings for him, I see him as a friend from the neighborhood, always smiling, and proving so peace in the heart, he was such a funny person. "My name is Dayo, and you?", he said, stretching his left hand for a hand shake. I didn't shake him, maybe because I don't like him, or even develop any feelings for him. Ever since he saw me in the neighborhood, he will always wants to hear me speak. So, anytime I see him around, I will just

POETRY INVOICE ON A TALK WITH KAYEON Host - Prince Joe Guest - Kayeon Onyeka Topic: LITERARY DISCUSSION ON EMOTIONS AND MEMORIES IN WRITING. H: So, quick one, before we start, can you please define yourself in just (1) word? G: Wordmaker. H: Interesting, this speaks a lot though. Ok, not to waste much time, according to the given topic, lets starts from EMOTIONS. In your opinion, and coupled with your experience what does EMOTION means to you? G: Emotions for me plays a huge part in my life because they drive (consciously and unconsciously) my perspective, actions and sometimes realities. But I must be quick to mention that it is not the most rational way to live, cos it subjects you to mood swings and uncertainty but most times they propeller the most powerful words and actions H: Great. Something heavy to ponder on, indeed. So, kayeon, this aspect of EMOTION, do you think it has any importance in writing, at least, of recent; I met with a lady, she w

POETRY INVOICE ON A TALK WITH ESV_KEKS Host: Prince Joe Guest: Esv_keks TOPIC: LITERARY DISCUSSION ON EDITING AND SUBMISSION. H: sir. Like we always do, in 1 word, describe yourself? G: Weird. H: Hmm, thoughtful. Quick one, sir, concerning tonight's topic, let's start from the angle of EDITING. To your experience, do you have better meaning of what editing means?. G: Well. In my opinion. Editing simply means correcting, condensing, and modifying/revising the first draft of any literary work of art before submission to any journal, magazine or anthology is being made. & the sole aim of editing is to bring the work closer to perfection. If not perfection. H: I will take it from here. "Perfection". Sir, for any work of art, drafted, are you saying, there must be perfection as regards the meaning of your editing? G: The truth is. Every work of art is subjective. No matter how good it is. Since as a writer you're not writing just fo

POETRY INVOICE ON A TALK WITH PARIOLODO: Host: Prince Joe Guest: Pariolodo Title: Punchlines and its effect to the society. H: Good to have you around( just like a dream come true) Quick one sir, in ONE WORD, can you describe yourself? G: Versatile H: Deep. Thanks for that. Ok. Sir, according to the Theme for tonight, kindly tell us, what PUNCHLINES mean to you? ( due to your experience) G: To me, a punchline is the garment poetry wears to transform into what a lay man can relate with while maintaining the originality of poetry. Intensively, it is a cocktail of euphemism, metaphor, personification and smile H: Hmmm, so, are you saying, we cannot make any PUNCHLINE without having to do with any figures of speech? G: Well, punchline is a wider concept than I've just described, but a punchline wouldn't be a punchline if the person using it isn't employing some figure of speech. H: Wow. That's true. Thanks for that clarification. Sir, can
