DPW WINNER(JUNE)

THE WINNING POEM:

YESTERDAY WAS SWEET, IS TODAY BITTER?

Yesterday was sweet; a vase of rainbow memories
moon of hope shone our mud thatched huts
Skylark warbled peace in our garden
The earth felt the warmth of our arms
As we worked on the valley of trust.

We played and played together
This Aso was too big for two families
Our forefathers spoke in parables,
Little talks made things brighter
Gurgling drums echo the stars.

Today you served bitter-kolanut on the tongue table,
Hurricane of hatreds unroofed our roof
Wind of peace howls, while the tree sway!
We uproot trees of love in our forest creep
We entomb our ancestors' tomb of unity.

We are two trouble goats that quarrel,
We knock each others with our horns
Hefty speeches has adulterated the air
We can no longer breathe fresh air
Yesterday was Jasmine, today is crabapple.
