PROFFERING SOLUTIONS TO PROBLEMS(POETRY) BY BAMIGBOLA SILAS.

PROFFERING SOLUTION TO PROBLEMS(POETRY) BY BAMIGBOLA SILAS.

Our society is insane already, please as  poets don't add to the insanity.

The world is full of problems that need solutions and it needs people to rise up to proffer solutions to those problems.
And you as a poet must have a purpose.

So as a poet, what is your purpose?
We all write poetry for a reason. If I ask us all why we write poetry, "most" us should be able to say why we write poetry.

At least:
If you have a purpose as a poet you begin to solve those problems.

Every literary works including poetry should be aimed at providing solutions to the problems we have on ground.

You shouldn't add to the problems with your poems.
Don't just write for fun or writing sake. Write for a greater purpose.

I know the potency of words and I'm sure we all know the potency of words.
Please don't ever hold back as poets, if you will be a solution you must be a defiant and fearless.

Cowards don't move a thing. They run from problems Instead of facing them
Do you know that with each poem you write, you create a world?
So one thing that makes you proffer solutions is by expressing yourself through unhindered.
There are 3 ways we proffer solutions to problems through poetry.

Through ;
Inspiration
Education
And motivation.
It's with words the world was created. And we as writers/poets are creative who use words to create worlds.Words should be servants to you, use them as you wish.
but know this, be responsible for the words you use.
So one thing that makes you proffer solutions is by expressing yourself unhindered.
Injustice, depression, crime, hatred, poverty, war etc
As much as you want to be professional be lucid and clear enough. Poetry isn't a solution if it isn't clear enough...

Use good imageries.

And in being clear don't adulterate or water down your poem. Educate with your poetry.

And motivate people to do more with your poems.
Conclusively as a poet know that you called for a greater purpose. Solve problems -- create awareness and act. What motivates me to write.

Writing is my life and I'm a voice.
I write it gives me an essence and the solutions I provide to lives out there through my poems motivate me.
When we try to heal and solve some problems around us(especially politics)
Don't you think we could be very harsh in pointing out the system weakness, and we could be very stern in creating out solutions as well.

But here comes my question:

Truly,we all have our ways of writing(be it harsh or latter)
And sometimes you don't just have to jump into some matters.
So sir what do you think a writer can do so as to make his/her messages echoes in the ears of his/her readers without them(readers) taking it to head?
Don't just attack people. Attack the situation on ground.
We must be wise in addressing issues and we must do it in wisdom.

Don't just bash people. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and ideologies and beliefs. What you do is to try to make them see things your way, the right way.

If you want to be harsh do it with wisdom in a way the readers will understand you.

Thank you.
